The plain-language version
Privacy Policy
Effective September 28, 2026. Cookbooked is designed to keep your cooking life personal. This page explains the information used to provide the app’s features.
Information you add
Cookbooked stores the recipes, meal plans, grocery items, pantry items, preferences, notes, and photos you choose to add. This information is used to provide the app’s features.
Recipe and product lookups
When you import from a link or look up a product barcode, Cookbooked sends the link, search request, or barcode to the relevant website or lookup service so it can return the requested information. Those services may process requests under their own privacy policies.
Optional permissions
- Camera and photos: used when you choose to add images or scan supported content.
- Calendar: used when you choose to add planned meals and update events Cookbooked created.
- Notifications: used for reminders you enable.
Sharing
Cookbooked does not sell your personal information. Content is shared only when you ask the app to import, export, sync, or interact with a service needed for a feature.
Your control
You can edit or delete content inside the app and change permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Removing the app removes its local data; synced or exported copies may need to be removed separately from the service where they are stored.
Changes
This policy may be updated as Cookbooked changes. The effective date above will be revised when that happens.
